Vic Grainger has a broad range of experience, and is always keen to take on a new challenge.
Vic is the founder of Travik, and was responsible for moving the company to its present site at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham in 1990. Having been in the chemical manufacturing business since 1974, he has an excellent pedigree when it comes to developing new formulations.
According to Vic, who says he would be a keen fisherman if he had the time, the most common problem for customers is finding a formulation that suits them:
“Everything has got to be right. Of course the product has to be effective, but it also has to deliver on colour, fragrance and packaging size,” he says.

Vic has one simple message for potential clients:

“If it’s a liquid chemical formulation, then we can produce it. That applies whether you want to clean and polish ships, buses, trains or cars, or wash your dog or your horse.”

Gareth Thomas comes from a manufacturing background, having previously worked for Avent baby products and the multinational firm, ITW.

Every good company needs a good office manager, and here at Travik we have Val Carr. Val has been with the company since the beginning, so it’s fair to say that she knows a great deal about the business. As well as handling sales and purchases, Val also deals with customer enquiries. Production manager, Andrew Burgess is in charge of stock control. He oversees the packaging process, as well as ordering raw materials and keeping everything running smoothly. Married with three children, Andrew is a keen supporter of Manchester United football team.
